Job Opportunity at the Art Museum: Part-Time Marketing Associate

Updating the Art Museum's website is one of the tasks of the Marketing Associate


Have you ever wanted to work at the Art Museum?  Here is your opportunity!  We are currently seeking a part-time Marketing Associate.  This position is crucial to promoting the museum, whether it's working with local newspapers, updating the website with current exhibition information, or designing eye-catching ads.

Please Note

This is a part-time position with a flexible schedule working 20 hours/week. The successful candidate must be available to work Wednesday mornings to attend a staff meeting.

 
Essential Duties

Draft, produce, and distribute press releases for print, radio, and TV with review by appropriate Art Museum Staff. Establish and maintain working relationship with print, radio, and TV contacts. Assist in making recommendations on unsolicited advertising and promotional opportunities to the director.

Using University webpage templates, create Art Museum and Museum Store web pages in consultation with Museum staff. Maintain webpage through timely updates. Add Art Museum events to various online calendars (UW, Chamber of Commerce, Wyoming Tourism, etc).

Design ads and produce various print needs for the Art Museum Gala. Happy Holidays, Laramie! and the Festival of Trees.

Assist in the design and production of posters, flyers, etc for Art Museum programs in consultation with appropriate staff member.

Draft promotion schedule of deadlines for distribution to staff for planning. Maintain accountability through archiving and report systems. Other duties at the request of the director.


Minimum Qualifications


Associate Degree and two years' work experience in Communication, Webpage and/or Public Relations.

Excellent interpersonal, verbal and/or written communication skills.
Valid Driver's License with a motor vehicle record that is compliant with the University Vehicle Use Policy Found at: http://www.uwyo.edu/auxserv/fleet/Official-Vehicle-Policy/OVP.pdf.


Desired Qualifications

Prefer a Bachelor's Degree.
Experience with Microsoft Office specifically Word and Excel.
Experience with Acrobat, Photoshop and/or Illustrator.
Experience with web management and/or use of a MAC.
Assist with Social Media updates.
Records maintenance and management experience.
Customer service experience.
Organizational skills and the ability to multi-task.
The ability to be a team player and contribute to a productive work environment.
