6 pm Welcome reception and art exhibit by Pipeline Art Project, open to public
7:30 pm "20/20" slide presentations by Wyoming artists, hosted by UW Art Museum (artists must sign up prior). Open to public.

Saturday, March 31
Full day of presentations on developing art career opportunities by art writers, curators, and artists from Wyoming and elsewhere.
Evening banquet at Rendezvous Pointe: Awards ceremony for 2012 Wyoming Arts Council Visual Arts Fellowship Winners.

Sunday, April 1
Morning at Hampton Inn meeting rooms:
Individual artist portfolio reviews with fellowship jurors (artists must sign up prior)

Touring Exhibition Service at the Art Museum

Did you know that the UW Art Museum has a Touring Exhibition Service that travels exhibitions of original art around the state?

The Touring Exhibition Service offers exhibitions at no charge to Wyoming organizations plus one-way shipping (roundtrip shipping to out of state organizations). These exhibitions are designed for sites such as libraries, schools, community centers, galleries and museums. Insurance, press releases, publicity photos and exhibition interpretation is provided by the UW Art Museum. You can learn about the available exhibitions and find the touring schedule on our website.

20:20 Call for Statewide Presenters

The UW Art Museum is pleased to announce its fifth 20:20 event. 20:20 is a fast-paced presentation format whereby presenters are able to show 20 images for 20 seconds each. The total presentation time is only 6 minutes and 40 seconds. Advance sign-up is required and offered on a first come, first served basis.

20:20 Statewide is scheduled at the Hilton Garden Inn, Casper on Friday, April 23, 8-10 pm. It is open to statewide visual artists. The deadline to submit images in a PowerPoint format is Friday, April 9.

This is part of a weekend of arts events that includes a Saturday evening reception to announce the recipients of the 2010 Wyoming Arts Council visual arts fellowship. That will be followed by an artists' roundtable featuring the three fellowship judges.

20:20 is an opportunity to share accomplishments in the arts, ideas, new work and images. The program is meant to foster open dialogue and communication among student artists and to provide an opportunity for networking with colleagues.

The format of 20:20 is borrowed from a program that was first developed in Japan by two architects who were looking for a new way to present design ideas in an upbeat and exciting way. Events like 20:20 now occur internationally as specially organized evening events where the focus is on sharing information and community participation.

"Contemporary Art in WY" is On the Road!

The University of Wyoming Art Museum is happy to announce that the latest exhibition of its "Touring Exhibition Service" has begun it's two year travel around the state! Contemporary Art in Wyoming features a selection of eighteen contemporary Wyoming artists who offer a variety of subjects that embrace the landscape, daily life, and personal expression in a range of media that includes watercolor, photography, collage, printmaking, painting, and drawing.

This week, the exhibition premiers at the Meeteetse Museum. The touring schedule is set through 2012. Check below to see when Contemporary Art in Wyoming comes to your town! Reminder: One Week to Submit Images for Touring Exhibition

Only one week remains for Wyoming artists to submit images for consideration to be included in a traveling exhibition organized by the University of Wyoming Art Museum. The DEADLINE is Thursday, October 22. Details are below in the official Call for Wyoming Artists.

The University of Wyoming Art Museum is pleased to accept submissions by Wyoming artists for its Touring Exhibition Service. For more than 25 years, the Art Museum has circulated exhibitions of original art throughout Wyoming. Whether from the museum’s collection or borrowed from artists, these exhibitions are available to libraries, schools, community centers, galleries, and museums statewide.

We are pleased to feature a selection of up to twenty Wyoming based artists in a new exhibition to tour through the Touring Exhibition Service. In addition, the Art Museum will be creating educational tools and information online for use by K-12 teachers. This is a wonderful opportunity to have your work seen and studied in a variety of Wyoming communities by the public and school groups. We anticipate a three-year tour which will visit at least five communities annually.

Please submit for consideration three images of your artwork, a brief artist’s statement, and resume by October 22, 2009 to:

DO NOT SEND ORIGINAL ARTWORK – only jpegs, tiffs, slides or photographs of work will be accepted. Please include with each image: title, size, date, and medium. Requirements: Artists must live and work primarily in Wyoming.

All work must be two-dimensional and ready to frame. No charcoal or pastel can be accepted due to the long-term travel conditions. Size must not exceed 14 x 18 inches in total and image size must not exceed 10 x 12 inches.
